Insurance for restaurants & retail
Restaurants, cafes, bars, boutiques and other shops face customer injuries, kitchen fires, spoiled inventory, card data, high employee turnover and delivery drivers. We put the pieces together so one bad day doesn't close you down.

Keep the doors open: property, liability and the people behind the counter.
What insurance do restaurants and shops need?
Restaurants and retailers usually start with a business owner's policy (general liability, property and business income), then add workers' compensation, equipment breakdown and food spoilage, cyber coverage for card payments, employment practices liability and, for delivery, hired and non-owned or commercial auto. If you serve alcohol, liquor liability is essential, since general liability typically excludes it.

Does my BOP cover food spoilage?
Not always automatically. Spoilage and equipment breakdown are often added as endorsements, so we check your policy for them.
We only serve beer and wine. Do we need liquor liability?
Yes. Most general liability policies exclude claims arising from serving or selling alcohol, regardless of the type.
Our employees deliver in their own cars. Are we covered?
Not by their personal policy for business use, often. Hired and non-owned auto coverage protects the business when that happens.
